As usual, the focus was on the women who took major risks and the women who played it too safe. I was of course looking to see what men would stand out in the sea of magnificently dressed ladies. I give best dressed honors to Matt Bomer and Tom Ford. Both proved that you don’t have to wear a dress (Marc Jacobs) to be unique. A double breasted tuxedo is a great way to mix up a black tie look.

Gentlemen, there is a saying that all men should be loyal to 3 people in their lives. Once you have found them, (in no particular order) these three people should be your barber, tailor, and accountant.
A hair cut is an important thing because first impressions are everything. It is one of the first things people notice. Everyone has different tastes and styles and only your barber can understand this and translate it through the use of some clippers, scissors and comb.
Tailoring is something people over look but a great tailor knows your body type and your style. Generally, men dont know how things should properly fit but others do. A great tailor will guide you on how your sport jackets, suits, trousers, shirts, and pants should fit. This is crucial because the clothes you put on should only fit you.
Last but not least is an accountant. There are some accountants in the world that are great and will save/get you a lot of money in april. However, there are many accountants that can put you in jail for tax evasion. Knowing the fine line of what is a criminal offense and what is ok, separates a great Accountant and a really terrible Accountant.

This month’s Style Icon goes out to Mr. Dick Clark. Born Richard Wagstaff Clark was a radio and television host. This native New Yorker was best known for hosting American television’s longest-running variety show, American Bandstand, from 1957 to 1987. Most of our youth today including myself did not have the pleasure of seeing Mr. Clark in action on the American Bandstand. It was the only show during the its time that was a musical party on TV. Generations later, major networks started to pick up this trend creating MTV, VH1 and etc.
His charm, hosting capabilities and talent kept him the most sought out host of his profession. Not only was he a master of hosting, but also a master in style. Dick always had an effortless style that people envied. Not only did he a major influence in pop culture, he also had a major influence in fashion. Thank you Mr. Clark for the many years you have blessed us with your talent and impeccable fashion . May you rest in peace.
